Zavanti appoint new reseller to target growing UK market for Property and Construction ERP Solutions
Zavanti is pleased to announce the appointment of MCN Property as an official reseller for Zavanti’s complete Property and Construction Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite. The move reflects an increasing demand for Zavanti’s solutions in the UK.
MCN Property is a dynamic development consulting firm offering a full range of professional services for the residential property development sector. As a Zavanti Reseller, they will continue to build and strengthen Zavanti’s UK presence by offering the company’s leading property and construction ERP solutions to their network of clients and industry contacts.
Prior to establishing MCN Property, Mark Newman was a Senior Surveyor with CB Richard Ellis, specialising in development consultancy, residential land agency, and loan and corporate recovery. This role provided him with a detailed insight into the various facets of the construction and development lifecycle, as well as an in-depth understanding of the complete planning system. He has a proven track record for managing and delivering valuations on major mixed-use projects, and providing added value to proposed development schemes.
“This partnership is an additional step forward for Zavanti as we expand our presence in the UK”, says Nick Virr, General Manager Zavanti UK. “We are pleased to welcome MCN Property and are confident that they will be an invaluable asset to our reseller team. Mark’s impeccable consulting skills, and vast experience of the UK industry, combined with Zavanti’s ERP Software, will provide our prospects and MCN’s clients with a complete end-to-end solution, allowing them to operate more efficiently, particularly in times of uncertainty”.
"Zavanti software offers a truly integrated cash-flow management suite which is essential in dealing with the current financial issues developers, contractors and financiers are facing”, says Mark Newman, MCN Property. “Once developers and contractors realise the benefits of the software I believe they will be equally as impressed as I was, and see the real value this software can add to their business."
Zavanti’s world class ERP suite provides seamless integration between the key processes associated with project planning, forecasting and accounting. From initial site and concept feasibility and project estimating through to full financial and subcontractor management, and sales, Zavanti helps developers and construction contractors maintain control over their project finances, information flows and business operations.

Software and technology: one for all and all for one
Check out last week's Property Week article by David Lawson which profiles Zavanti's UK Director, Nick Virr.
Nick has been in the property and construction software business for over 15 years now and has recently moved back to the UK from Australia to establish Zavanti's foothold there.
On his return, he found that no one appeared to have created a similar unified program in the UK, thus he saw a new market for Zavanti and is currently doing the rounds of developers there. ‘Because it is a single system, development managers can see the cash flow effects of a released contract, finance managers can see borrowing levels and cash needs, management can see all indicators real time,’ he says.
‘More timely information allows businesses to know exactly how they are operating in real time. There is no need for costly updates to interfaces and no need to get caught between vendors.’
A recession may not seem an obvious time to launch software, but Virr believes the current havoc means that such a system is even more attractive because it can deal with the fast-changing circumstances.

HOW EFFECTIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT CAN HELP GUIDE THE PROPERTY & CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY THROUGH THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN
With uncertain financial times meaning smaller budgets and leaner staff, the property and construction industry is under growing pressure to deliver more with less.
In an attempt to remain competitive, builders and developers are now looking to streamline their project management activities. This can be achieved by replacing multiple disparate software systems and investing in a single, integrated project solution. Such solutions provide users with the ability to effectively manage the complete project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and funding, through acquisition and development, construction, reporting and project sales management.
There is a significant advantage to be gained from consolidating your resource planning and financial information in one database, from cost savings on staff, to more efficient project management and enhanced management agility. In addition, with instant, real-time access to information, organisations can see how the business is performing at any given stage, across all projects. The ability to analyse data on the fly, identify trends and make forecasts is extremely valuable, enabling firms to generate more accurate estimates and to better manage project budgets and timeframes.
Additionally, analysis of finalised projects will enable improved profits and performance going forwards, delivering tangible financial benefits to the enterprise. For example, by exposing and eliminating redundant processes and inefficiencies, significant cost savings can be made on subsequent projects.
Zavanti's Director, Nick Virr adds, "In these challenging times, builders and developers need to analyse the economic viability and profitability of proposed projects, as well as keeping track of project costs and revenue." Nick adds, "It is imperative that project and cost controls are maintained and managed better than ever. Using an integrated system like Zavanti ERP, calculations for rate of return, budget projections, revenue and expense can be generated with a few mouse clicks. In addition authority levels and variation approval processes give you control and visibility of your project budget."
With $1.5 billion in projects completed or commenced, MAB Corporation, is one of Zavanti's largest Australasian clients. To help plan for and deliver their high quality commercial, residential, and industrial developments, MAB use Zavanti's centralised system for feasibility and forecasting, project financials, job control, subcontractors, and reporting, across all their project teams. The results are evident, as despite the slowing global economy MAB continue to strive, with a AU$60 million retail outlet recently completed and a new AU$185 million residential tower development underway in the Melbourne Docklands precinct.
The efficiencies gained by using an integrated project solution, such as Zavanti ERP, are critical to weathering the storm during this grim economic period. When the economy begins to rise again as trends historically forecast, organisations that have investigated and implemented new efficient methods of doing business will be best placed to take full advantage of emerging opportunities. As such an integrated ERP suite, like Zavanti, should be part of today's strategic planning.
Zavanti ERP will be exhibiting as part of the upcoming Urban Development Institute of Australia's (UDIA) National Congress from March 30th - April 2nd. This gives property developers, investors and construction organisations the perfect opportunity to see how Zavanti works first hand.
